Ukraine's ground robot company takes to the air for the world's first drone medevac

Big thing

Ukraine flies a wounded soldier off the front line by drone, a world first

▶ Watch the video

Mines and Russian drones ruled out a rescue by ground robot, so the 92nd Brigade's unmanned ground systems company airlifted a wounded 30th Brigade soldier with a heavy hexacopter made by Gurzuf Defence. It flew him to safety (@Osinttechnical), a 62 km, 75-minute mission per Gurzuf, and he is now being treated (@sentdefender).

Awe on X: "Just absolutely insane" (@WarMonitor3, 3.2M). r/robotics weighed it against ground robots: "if I'm bleeding out I'd vote for the fast extraction" (reply), and "PNW SAR crews must be watching this absolutely drooling" (reply).

1. Figure's F.03 has walked nine straight days on a treadmill

348 miles and 1.2 million steps so far, in a test Brett Adcock started as a side project to find what breaks first. It's still running.

"basically just did 13 marathons back to back with no food, no water and no sleep" (@itsolelehmann). @perperp_er did the maths: about 1.6 mph, "a stroll". "The most honest robot test of the year is a treadmill, not a backflip" (@velkorti).

2. Tesla says Optimus V3 is ready for mass production, and shows it in the dark

Tesla's new annual report says it "Readied V3 Optimus for mass production". Its shareholder letter, ahead of the 3 December annual meeting, ran a dim V3 photo with Musk's line on "an age of Amazing Abundance" (@cb_doge).

@lucenttenebris_: lit "so dark you can barely make out the hands, the one part everyone's been waiting to see". @herbertong: "Optimus V3 still hasn't been shown... The holdup is the hand", ahead of earnings on Wednesday.

4. Dream Labs comes out of stealth with Dream-1, a robot model you rent for $3 an hour

Four ex-NVIDIA researchers built a model that learns from video and drives two-armed robots it never trained on, through a public API. Robocurve, which tested it before launch, scored it 59 on RoboDojo-RC Tier 1, the first model above 50.

"In six days, the robotics SOTA jumped 11 points from Gemini 4 Argon (48%) to Dream-1 (59%)" (@chooi_jeq). @gpudad, testing it on their own robot: "really impressed with the quality for the price."

Key research

AgiBot's robot fleet learns from its own successes, with no new human corrections

Tsinghua University, AgiBot and Infinigence AI had G2 robots pool their runs: when one fails, the system finds matching successful moves from the fleet and fine-tunes the shared policy. On five real tasks it reached 93.3% to 99.2% on held-out robots, and phone packaging with 96 robots went from 79.2% to 98.3%. It matters because, on the team's own tests, the fleet kept improving without anyone correcting it and ended up beating people steering the robots by hand.
