Tau Robotics' humanoid house cleaners now come on a recurring subscription
Households can now book Tau's humanoids on a schedule, for up to three hours per cleaning, two weeks after it opened bookings in Los Angeles. Its new video, a first take shown at 4x speed, has a robot wiping a sink, a counter and a toilet. A human supervises each robot and can take over, and places go to selected households from a waitlist (@ReindentAI).
@sincethestudy: "not only is watching the robots clean the best robot demo I have ever seen, its not even a demo, its a product you can pay for today." @TheWebBrokers1: "DON'T BE FOOLED: THESE ARE TELEOPERATED", on Unitree G1s "costing about $55K each before Tau's mods".

Labs news & launches
1. OpenAI will point its robotics program at building data centers, Altman says
"We have a robotics program that we're going to point at making lots of data centers," he said in a new interview, adding that robots could make more components (@wallstengine). He called self-replicating data centers, with AI-controlled robots running fabs and building turbines, solar panels and more data centers, "within grasp" (@deanwball).
@AndrewCurran_: "this is the third time I've seen Mr Altman talk about self replicating OpenAI datacenters. The first use case for OpenAI robots appears to be building more OpenAI robots and building more OpenAI datacenters." r/accelerate's top reply: "don't tempt me with a good time".

2. AgiBot shows a robot that listens while it talks, plus its third-generation humanoid platform
At Thursday's Innovation Day, AgiBot showed WITA-Omni 1.0, which runs on-device, answers in as little as 400ms (about 600ms on average) and can listen and speak at once. Its new AHA3 humanoid platform has liquid-cooled joints and OmniHand 3 hands. It also previewed GO-3, a new foundation model, and proposed "Worken", a measure of the useful work robots deliver (@AGIBOTofficial).
@TheHumanoidHub: "Impressive demo of talking over the robot to test its ability to listen while speaking." @AGkorthos adds that AgiBot "disclosed nearly RMB2B (~$300M) in H1 2026 revenue".

3. Reachy Mini gets wheels, a phone app and hats that change its personality
Pollen Robotics and Hugging Face's "Level UP" update adds a hoverboard so the open-source desk robot can move around, an iOS and Android app so it needs no computer, and NFC hats that each unlock a personality (@RemiFabreRobot).
@Thom_Wolf: "obviously the first thing Reachy Mini did was race against Microduck (spoiler: it's faster)". r/robotics' top reply asked if the dialogue was programmed, and Pollen answered: "Yes, both the speech and the movements are scripted".

Key research
Robocurve: GPT-6.1 Terra now stacks three bowls 75% of the time
Three months ago, GPT-5.6 Terra stacked two bowls 5% of the time. The tasks are adapted from the RoboDojo benchmark. Robocurve published all 40 runs with transcripts and videos. It matters because general language models are improving at real robot tasks within months, and getting faster too (@robocurve).
Amazon FAR's DreamFAR: a world model trained only on robot data
With no internet pretraining, it runs live teleoperation inside the model, holds together for minutes and covers 1,000+ tasks. Policies run inside it rank mostly as they do on real robots, though it is optimistic in absolute terms (@_YimingDou). It matters because testing policies on real robots is slow and hard to reset, and this could do much of it.
Scale AI and Hugging Face release FineART, the largest open robot dataset with subtask labels
It has 40K+ demonstrations across 151 tasks, with 500K subtask labels, and ships FineART-VLA, LeRobot's first open model predicting its next step before acting, built on π0.5 for the data. Both are on LeRobot. It matters because step labels made a robot follow a person's steps on a new task (16% to 76%, authors' tests), but alone it still failed.
